LAKE OSWEGO - Tigard used a steady dose of free throws in the second half to beat Jesuit 40-33 and move into the quarterfinals of the Nike Interstate Shootout Thursday at Lake Oswego High School.

The Tigers, ranked 11th in Class 6A, pulled away from a 17-16 lead early in the third quarter with a 14-2 scoring run that ended with four free throws. Thereafter, the team did not attempt a field goal. The Tigers hit 14 of 19 free throws in the second half.

Junior Lexi Carter led Tigard with 17 points, while senior senior Megan Risinger finished with 10. The Tigers improved to 5-2.

Jesuit got 16 points from sophomore post Tarea Green, but  fell to 3-5 on the season.
