Central Catholic overwhelms West Linn

Rams get 23 points from Kailee Johnson and win 70-31

LAKE OSWEGO - Central Catholic took care of any drama from its game with West Linn with a 16-2 run to open the game and cruised to a 70-31 victory in the opening round of the Nike Interstate Shootout Thursday at Lake Oswego High School.

Looking to make a statement about its ability to ability to win the state title for the first time, the Rams dominated the game led by 6-foot-3 senior post Kailee Johnson, who finished with 23 points.

Central Catholic also got 12 points from senior guard Jordan Reynolds while improving to 5-3 on the season.

The Rams will play Tigard, which beat Jesuit in its first round game, Friday at 5 p.m.

Central Catholic lost twice during an invitational tournament in Arizona and also to Westview in the second game of the season.
