Sunset swimmers have records in mind

The Apollos are favored to win races all weekend as well as two team titles
Feb. 13, 2013

There’s at least a chance for some drama in the OSAA Swimming State Championships Friday and Saturday in the Class 6A girls race, where West Linn and Sunset might be separated by a slim-enough margin going into the final event that either could win.

But, the boys race isn’t a race outside of the water. The defending state champion Sunset Apollos are favored to win seven races and establish a new state record during the meet at Mt. Hood Community College.

Sunset senior Cameron Stitt is a contender to break the 500 freestyle record that has stood since 1984.
