Prep bowlers aiming for state tournament

Medford's Lava Lanes set to host event, Feb. 25-27

Teams from across the state will be aiming to dethrone Roseburg and Hidden Valley at the 2011 Oregon State USBC Feb. 25-27 in Medford.

Roseburg won the boys title, while Hidden Valley won the girls title earlier this year at Valley Lanes in Beaverton. The Indians overcame an MVP performance from Matt McGill of Grants Pass, while the Mustangs featured MVP Stephanie Carter.

The first of the seven district tournaments is set for Jan. 29 in Bend. Sixteen teams will qualify for the state tournament. Last year, the tournament awarded more than $11,000 in scholarships.

An All-Star Tournament is set for March 12-13 in Prineville.

District 1: Feb. 5, 6 at Tillamook Lanes

District 2: Jan. 30 at AMF Albany Lanes

District 3: Feb. 13 at AMF 20th Century Lanes, Portland

District 4: Jan. 30, Firs Bowl, Eugene

District 5: Feb. 6, Lava Lanes, Medford

District 6: Jan. 29, Lava Lanes, Bend

District 7: Feb. 13, Rodeo Lanes, Pendleton

 

STATE TOURNAMENT

Feb. 25, 26, 27 at Lava Lanes, Medford

 

ALL-STAR TOURNAMENT

March 12, 13 at Rimrock Lanes, Prineville
